The US. MINT

THE

US. MINT

HISTORY:

When the framers of the U.S. Constitution created a new government for their untried Republic, they realized the critical need for a respected monetary system. Soon after the Constitution's ratification, Secretary of the Treasury Alexander Hamilton personally prepared plans for a national Mint. On April 2, 1792, Congress passed The Coinage Act, which created the Mint and authorized construction of a Mint building in the nation's capital, Philadelphia. This was the first federal building erected under the Constitution.

This year marks the bureau's 220th anniversary.

Chapter 5 Essay

Chapter 5 Essay

My chapter 5 history Essay is about The patriots driving toward independence. Then their basic belifs and what drove them towards this. Also why did they organize and fight the british.

The thing that drove the patriots toward their independence was the british taxing them on everything. They even had a thing called the stamp act and you had to pay for a stamp on every paper you had.

The basic beliefs  that drove them to this. Was they were used to making their own taxes. But one day england started to fall in debt, and the king starrted to tax the patriots. Then thats the point when they starrted to drive towarrd independece.

They organized the fight with the british because they were sick and tired of paying taxes to england. Cause they were not represented.

So that was my essay on Toward Independence.
